Carleton University: Stand up for Dr. Hassan Diab and Protect him from Harassment and Threats

Take one minute to send a letter to Carleton University administration and Board of Governors, by filling in the fields on the right.

Tell them: Protect Dr. Hassan Diab from the onslaught of attacks. He is an innocent man, wrongfully convicted by a sham French court.

Background

The Wrongful Verdict: Few Canadians have read France’s 2023 verdict, which wrongfully convicted Hassan Diab for the 1980 bombing of a Paris synagogue on rue Copernic. But those who, in good faith, have read that 32-page document can see clearly that the Paris Assize Court decision not only relied on a welter of absurd claims, undocumented statements, and unsolved queries, it rested on a sham trial, shockingly conducted with no public record or actual proof – and, this, contrary to Canadian law.

Disinformation: France’s “decision” is an iconic example of disinformation, a narrative wrought of loose ends, missing links, and an egregious suppression of irrefutable exculpatory evidence. In the course of 19 years, French authorities (together with their international collaborators) wove a fiction that has caught many in its web of deceit, particularly, but not exclusively, the adherents of the Israel lobby.

Toxic fallout: France’s wrongful verdict has emboldened some (both within Canada and elsewhere) to mount a hostile campaign against Dr. Diab, urging the Carleton University administration to have him dismissed. A coordinated campaign of harassment, hate crimes, and death threats is being levelled at Dr. Diab, prompted and orchestrated by the Israel Lobby. On November 1, 2024, Bn’ai Brith launched this campaign. On November 4, 2024, Hassan Diab received a death threat, the first of a flurry of threatening e-mails.

Call to Action: the Hassan Diab Support Committee is exhorting you, Dr. Diab’s followers and supporters, to write to Carleton University administrators and Board of Governors. Demand that they resist and defy this wave of hate and violent threats.
