  • Q. Who is the New York State Energy Planning Board?

    A. The 2024 New York State Energy Planning Board is a group of representatives from different state agencies and organizations who work together to create a plan for New York's energy future. The Board's job is to make a roadmap for how New York will meet its energy needs in a way that is clean, strong, and affordable for everyone, while also protecting the environment and people's health.

    A. The Plan was last updated in 2020, and it's time for a new plan that considers recent changes in energy and climate action goals. The State Energy Planning Board is starting the process and wants your input. The plan should help New York State make smart decisions about energy and work towards a better energy future for all New Yorkers.

    In simple terms, the final plan will look at the next 15 years and focus on:
