The proposal does so by requiring that hosts of single-family vacation rentals be present in the home to ensure that the guests abide by local noise and parking rules and do not disrupt the neighborhood.

The Coastal Commission is set to DENY Malibu’s commonsense regulations of short-term rentals at a meeting on Friday, August 12^th. The Commission’s reversal of Malibu’s regulations sets a dangerous precedent for beach communities that want to protect their neighborhoods up and down California’s coast.
