Community Solutions Staff Are Unionizing- Support CS United!
The workers of Community Solutions are unionizing! Our union, CS United, delivered our petition on March 31st to President & CEO, Rosanne Haggerty, requesting voluntary recognition for the union we've formed with OPEIU Local 153.
Please stand in solidarity with us by sending a message to our CEO and Executive Team asking them to respect the will of Community Solutions workers by voluntarily recognizing our union without a lengthy, expensive, and contentious process - and to refrain from any union-busting activities. CS United will represent the hard-working staff members who are dedicated to our mission of achieving a lasting end to homelessness that leaves no one behind. We know that our union will help build a stronger, more equitable, and more effective organization for staff and the communities in which we work.
Thank you so much for your support!

Dear Rosanne,
The employees of Community Solutions are pleased to notify you that a supermajority of eligible staff have joined together to form a union, CS United, with OPEIU Local 153. As a staff, we are wholly committed to Community Solutions’ mission, strategic plan, and stated values. We believe that forming a union is the best way for us to sustain the organization’s work to achieve our mission, and for Community Solutions to live out its values internally and externally—especially Focusing on the User, Promoting Racial Equity, and Taking Ownership of What Happens Here. Establishing our union will improve transparency, equity, inclusion, staff retention and well-being, and add to the long list of reasons why staff members are proud to work at Community Solutions. We are excited to take this next step to exercise our agency in the workplace, so that Community Solutions as a whole can best serve our communities and take care of our staff along the way.
Community Solutions will join the ranks of other prestigious non profit organizations that have unionized, including the Southern Poverty Law Center, Urban Institute, ACLU, Center for American Progress, Brookings Institution, Center on Budget & Policy Priorities, and many more.
We authorize Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 153 to be our representative for the purposes of collective bargaining with our employer. We ask you to voluntarily recognize our union by 12PM ET April 14, 2022, by responding to Insert Union Email Address, and our OPEIU Local 153 representatives Annie Della Fera, adellafera@opeiu-tristate.org, and Dana Kopel, Dkopel@opeiu-tristate.org. In asking for voluntary recognition, we do not waive our right to proceed to an NLRB election; however, we sincerely hope that you will voluntarily recognize our union without the need to proceed to a formal election.
We look forward to working more closely with you and leadership to produce a successful and sustainable future at Community Solutions for us all.
Sincerely,
CS United
