Congress MUST Pass The Afghan Adjustment Act
As the United States withdrew from Afghanistan, over 80,000 Afghans were evacuated to the United States in a chaotic withdrawal that left many behind. Many of those now in the United States only have temporary legal status as they start a new chapter of their life every state and corner of this country.
The Afghan Adjustment Act will offer Afghan refugees in the United States a path to permanent legal status, after two years of living in legal limbo and anxiety. If Congress fails, countless Afghans will be forced through other burdensome legal and backlogged asylum processes.
We need your help to urge every elected official to pass the Afghan Adjustment Act without excuse or delay. Afghans have been waiting for almost three years -- to no avail.
The United States owes the Afghan people a debt and we must ensure it pays up.
