Dallas City Council, Prioritize Affordable Housing
Right now, Dallas is going through the process of creating the 2024 bond. We have the opportunity to create thousands of affordable units through the bond, but the amount of money dedicated for housing right now falls well short of what both City Council and the Housing Department have asked for. If Council were to follow the Community Bond Taskforce's recommendation, less than $100 million will be for housing and homelessness, well below the $200+ million that we believe is necessary.
The past five years have seen Dallas rapidly become more unaffordable, and we can't let the 2024 bond go by without making a significant investment in housing. Sending this letter will send an email to all of the Council members, letting them know that we want to fight for more affordable housing!
