Dr. Abu Safiya has been held and tortured in Israeli military detention for 555 days. He is a pediatrician whom Israel abducted for refusing to abandon his patients in Gaza. His detention and torture are unjust and arbitrary. When his lawyer last saw him on July 2nd, he could barely recognize the doctor due to the torture he has endured, and Dr. Abu Safiya told his lawyer, “This is the last time you will see me. They brought me here to kill me.”
