Demand Letter: A Call for Canada to Provide Medical Evacuation for Wounded Palestinian Children

Heal a Child, Uphold Our Humanity
Right now, in Gaza, thousands of children are trapped in a nightmare. They have survived bombs and bullets but are now facing death from their injuries because the hospitals around them have been destroyed. These children suffer from severe burns, broken bodies, and unimaginable trauma, with nowhere to go and no way to get the complex medical care they desperately need to survive and rebuild their lives.
A critical lifeline has been severed. In the past, some of the most critically injured children could be evacuated for treatment. Now, that path has been brutally cut off. Following misinformation, the United States has stopped granting visas to Palestinians, including wounded children. This means a child who has lost limbs or is fighting a severe infection has been denied a chance at life-saving treatment based on a lie that falsely labels them a threat.
This is where Canada can—and must—step in. We are not a global superpower, but we have always been a humanitarian power. Our identity is built on compassion, on lending a hand to the most vulnerable, and on believing in the inherent worth of every child. This is not about politics; it’s about humanity.
By signing this petition, you are demanding our government take immediate action to:
· Save Lives: This is the most urgent reason. Every day of delay means more children will die from wounds that are treatable here in Canada. We need to remove the requirement for updated biometric data (fingerprints, passport photos, etc.) as there is nowhere left in Gaza to obtain these things and many are left without the limbs required to get a fingerprint.
· Uphold Canadian Values: We have a proud history of offering sanctuary and medical care to those caught in conflict, from Syrian refugees to Afghan interpreters and Ukrainian families. We cannot abandon this tradition now when the need is so severe.
· Show True Leadership: Canada can lead the world by example, demonstrating that compassion and human rights are not just slogans, but principles we act upon. We can create a special program to bring these children to Canadian hospitals for treatment.
· Reject Cruelty and Misinformation: By acting, we send a powerful message that we will not let lies and fear prevent us from helping innocent children. We stand for truth and compassion over misinformation and indifference.
These children are not statistics. They are kids who should be in school, playing, and dreaming about their futures—not fighting for their lives in a bombed-out hospital or tent. They have endured more than any child ever should. Canada has the medical expertise, the resources, and the moral responsibility to help.
Your signature is a direct call to our Prime Minister, Immigration Minister, Foreign Affairs Minister, and Health Minister to activate a plan now. It tells them that we, as Canadians, expect our country to be a beacon of hope and healing in a world that is too often dark.
Please, add your name today. Let’s bring them hope. Let’s bring them healing. Let’s bring them here.
