Demand Public Noticing for SF Upzonings!

The City doesn't want you to know that they are encouraging developers to tear down your home or business! Take Action NOW to demand public noticing for SF's upzonings!
The San Francisco Planning Department has just unveiled its new map, changing the rules in favor of developer giveaways throughout the City's neighborhoods, called upzonings or rezonings. Most residents and small businesses on the upzoning map don't know that they are being targeted for Redevelopment. By allowing developers to build more through upzoning, the City is encouraging developers to tear down existing buildings on the map so they can replace them with overpriced condos and commercial spaces.
We need to support Supervisor Connie Chan's proposed legislation to require public noticing for SF's Housing Element Rezoning Program to ensure all impacted parties are notified. Public noticing is critical to ensure that the people and small businesses who may be displaced or otherwise impacted by the upzonings know what's happening and can speak out about them. But so far, the City is refusing to send notices to residents and small businesses in the upzoned areas.
