I am writing to demand immediate, structural climate action. Every continent is experiencing megafires, droughts, floods, and crop failures. Yet governments spend over $7 trillion a year subsidizing the fossil fuel industries driving the destruction, more than the estimated $6 trillion per year needed to transition to renewables and protect the biosphere. The math is unambiguous. I demand you introduce legislation to immediately end fossil fuel subsidies and redirect those funds to renewable grids, reforestation, regenerative farming, mass transit, and climate-resilient housing. I also demand fully funded retraining and transition support for workers in fossil fuel and extractive industries, so the green transition does not leave communities behind. 'Climate' is not an issue. Human beings impact everything in this world. It is time we took responsibility for our actions.
