Demand that SUNY take action to protect our campus communities!

SUNY must act urgently to provide protections that are essential to ensure a safe and inclusive educational environment, uphold access to education, and support its stated goals of economic growth and democratic strength.

We have two demands:

1) The creation of legal defense funds and immigration support services to address fears stemming from visa revocations and deportations, which threaten the status and safety of international students and faculty, and could harm SUNY’s workforce, especially in critical fields like healthcare.

2) The adoption of ACLU-recommended measures for interactions with ICE such as designating private spaces that require judicial warrants and assigning legal counsel as the contact for immigration enforcement. These steps aim to protect against deceptive tactics and confusion related to immigration law enforcement.

Please write an email to the Chancellor’s office that support these measures. A template is provided that you can customize.
