Demand the Release of Leqaa Kordia — Stop Political Detention
Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian woman from New Jersey, remains in ICE detention while her health deteriorates. Our federal delegation must speak out and demand her immediate release.
Leqaa Kordia is a Palestinian woman living in Paterson, New Jersey. She was detained by ICE on March 13, 2025, and transferred far from her community to the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas.

Her legal team says Leqaa is being targeted for her Palestine solidarity protest activity, while DHS has framed the case as an immigration overstay matter.
Latest: News reports and her advocates say Leqaa was recently hospitalized after a medical episode and that her family and legal team have demanded answers from DHS and the detention center about her condition and whereabouts.
Advocates also report worsening conditions and denial of basic religious accommodations, including adequate halal meals, alongside severe weight loss and harsh confinement practices.
The Trump administration is using ICE to clamp down on dissent on behalf of apartheid Israel in addition to terrorizing those who fled their countries seeking refuge from war torn and economically ravaged nations. No one should be disappeared into a remote detention center, denied transparency and humane treatment, and punished for political speech.
What we’re asking our federal delegation to do:
Visit Leqaa at the ICE facility to raise awareness of her condition
-
Publicly call for Leqaa Kordia’s immediate release
-
Demand transparency on her medical status, location, and conditions of confinement
-
Demand DHS stop using procedural tactics to block her release
-
Request oversight and accountability for retaliatory enforcement targeting Palestine solidarity
Call for the abolition of ICE
