Deny Additional Cost to Forsyth Park Garage

Inform City Council of your opinion on Thursday's vote to increase the cost of the Forsyth Park Garage. No public hearing will be held so a letter is the only way to convey your comments. After the recent Order of Abandonment in Superior Court (April 2025), the design of the office complex and related garage are still in question. Here is your chance to direct comments to City Council to act wisely. See agenda item here.

The City's troubled Whitaker Street Garage under Ellis Square is costing the taxpayer $600,000 to repair hundreds of concrete cracks some over 90-feet long. Signs posted warn of flooding and to park at your own risk. The metal stairs are rusting through. Underground garages are risky in Savannah's environment of frequent flooding. The planned location in the Historic Victorian neighborhood frequently floods. Citizens have the right to demand City Council act responsibly when it comes to such risks. Funds can be better spent.

Please take this opportunity to engage with City Council.
