Don't balance the budget on the backs of WA State employees!

Governor Ferguson’s proposed furlough days for State employees in the 2025-2027 biennium have been pared down from 24 to 13 in the Washington State Senate operating budget, while the House budget excludes furloughs all together. Now that the budgets have passed out of their houses of origin, negotiations will start to reconcile the two.

Now is the time to make your voice heard! Tell Gov. Ferguson and your Representatives that we need revenue, NOT A TAX ON STATE WORKERS who are providing vital services to Washingtonians every day!

As a reminder, Governor Ferguson and many of the lawmakers in office made promises to the PROTEC17 member-led (and voluntarily funded) endorsement committee to support public employees, and now it’s time to hold them accountable. State employees and community supporters can send our pre-written message to the Governor’s office and your lawmakers to tell them that we will not sit idly by while legislators impose a tax on our State’s middle class! Let them know that they need to fix the budget mess they created without balancing it on the backs of State employees!
