For-profit utility corporations have unfairly saddled families with the burden of increasingly volatile and expensive energy bills. Meanwhile, these corporations are raking in record high profits and charging us for lobbying, advertising, luxury expenses, and unnecessary polluting fossil fuel projects.

For example, in 2024 Eversource profits grew by 29% to $291 million on their gas business alone. That same year, Eversource spent over a billion dollars on unnecessary gas pipes and related facilities and charged us for their lobbying, advertising, and luxury expenses. Now, they’re trying to blame energy efficiency and clean energy for high bills!

We have the power, here in the Commonwealth, to hold for-profit utilities accountable while we move towards real solutions that bring our bills down and move us rapidly toward efficient, clean, safe energy to heat and cool our homes.
