Drop the Disciplinary Charges Against Member of the Hurriya Coalition
SEND AN EMAIL TO PRES. GUSKIEWICZ, THE BOARD, AND DPPS TO DEMAND THEY DROP THE CHARGES NOW!
On September 8th, Michigan State University charged a member of the Hurriya Coalition with disciplinary charges under the Student Code of Conduct for his involvement in protest during Sparticipation. They are claiming that the protest, and this student in particular, were threatening and harassing the President. This protest was completely peaceful and meant to put pressure on the university and President Guskiewicz to end their complicity with the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
By claiming that a completely peaceful protest was harassment the University is relying on long standing stereotypes that the pro-Palestine student movement is inherently violent when we have done nothing but call for peace. President Guskiewicz and MSU are setting a dangerous precedent that by raising your voice for peace you may be targeted by the institution and face any number of punishments from suspension to degree revocation.
Stand against this authoritarian move and protect our right to free speech by demanding that MSU DPPS drop the charges against now!
