Duke Energy is charging their customers some of the highest electricity rates in the state, and their contract with the City of Clearwater finally expires in December 2025. City officials are taking a stand for residents by carefully evaluating all options rather than automatically renewing Duke’s agreement. Duke Energy is now pulling out all the stops to slow that momentum.
