East Bank Development - More Housing, Child Care, and Good Jobs for Us

Reality Check

The billionaire owner of the Titans is getting almost $2.3 billion from taxpayers to build a new stadium where the vast majority of Nashville’s working families won’t even be able to afford to go to a game.

Given the size of the public investment, the development agreement should ensure at least some working families can afford to live and thrive in the area. To do this the agreement must prioritize three things:

  1. Affordable three-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

  2. Sliding scale child care that service industry workers can afford.

  3. Contracting with construction firms that hire locally and utilize federally registered apprenticeships to create pathways out of poverty.
