After decades of divestment, last year's school budget included not just increases in the foundation allowance (which is allocated for each student, regardless of situation) but also increases in funding dedicated to supporting students experiencing concentrated poverty, students with disabilities and English language learners and additional funding for transportation, which is particularly critical for rural districts.
