As film workers, we are horrified by the rapidly worsening climate crisis, record-breaking wildfires, and deadly heatwaves, floods, and hurricanes. We are demanding that TIFF drop its toxic sponsor, the Royal Bank of Canada, who is the biggest fossil fuel financier in Canada and one of the biggest in the world.

TIFF must use it's power and influence as a globally important film festival to adopt an ethical sponsorship model and reject sponsorship deals from companies like RBC, which are complicit in climate chaos and human rights violations around the world, from funding the Coastal GasLink pipeline on unceded Wet'suwet'en territory, to backing mining companies destroying the Amazon rainforest, to investing in weapons companies complicit in genocide in Palestine.
