Email MA State Judiciary Committee

An incident at Chelsea High School on May 14th resulted in two students being detained by ICE. This revealed chilling loopholes in MA state law that leave our children, their families, and our community vulnerable. We are asking CTU members and community members to reach out to the MA State Representatives and Senators on the Judiciary Committee to report favorably on two laws that would help close these loopholes and keep our children and our communities safe.

  • An Act Promoting Diversion of Juveniles to Community Supervision and Services (H.1695 / S.1051) Fact Sheet
    • This act addresses low-level offenses in an effort to address racial and ethnic disparities in charging and diversion.
  • An Act Relative to Expungement (H.1657 / S.1058) Fact Sheet
    • This act addresses expungement of criminal records and also prohibits dissemination of juvenile fingerprints from arrest to the FBI.
