End UBC's complicity in Genocide and Warfare — Email the UBC Board of Governors

As of March 17th, in a landslide referendum, UBC students have unequivocally demonstrated our solidarity with Palestine. Our conviction is unshakeable: UBC must divest from weapons manufacturing and companies complicit in upholding the crimes of the Zionist occupation. As UBC students, we study and learn about decolonization, about racism, about white supremacy, and about the absolute necessity of fighting these systems of oppression. And yet, the UBC administration, Board of Governors, and Senate remain committed to upholding these very systems with over 113-million university dollars invested in weapons and surveillance corporations, companies operating in illegal Zionist settlements, and companies complicit in the occupation of Palestine. University funds should not be used to uphold apartheid and genocide! University funds should not be used to manfuacture the weapons used against precious and sacred PALESTINIAN LIFE. University funds should not be used to subsidize the wholesale murder of over a hundred thousand Palestinian people OR to maintain a zionist, colonial project premised on death and destruction.

Since May 15, 2024, we have called upon UBC to meet these demands:

1. Divest from all companies complicit in the "israeli" apartheid regime and the genocide of Palestinians.

2. Boycott "israeli" universities and institutions. Terminate all AMNE archaeological excavations on stolen Palestinian land. Cut all ties with these three "israeli" universities that are complicit in the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians: Tel Aviv University, Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

3. Condemn and demand an end to the genocide in Gaza, and condemn scholasticide in Gaza.

4. Keep cops off our campus. RCMP engages in suppression and violence against BIPOC and other marginalized communities, including the supression of pro-Palestine organizing.

5. Reaffirm Palestinians’ Right to Resist and their Right of Return.

To date, the university has not announced plans to respond to any one of these urgent concerns. Thousands upon thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children have been bombed, displaced, starved, tortured, and killed in the interim. Email the BoG and demand that they take action!
