Pass H2450/S1504: An Act to Protect Massachusetts Public Health from PFAS
This bill:
Bans PFAS in products starting with food packaging, children’s products, fabric treatments, cookware, personal care products, carpets and rugs, upholstered furniture, and firefighting foam.
Gives the MA Department of Public Health the authority to restrict PFAS in additional products.
Sets up a fund to test and treat drinking water for PFAS. Both public water systems and private wells are eligible for funds.
Restricts industrial releases of PFAS
Restricts the application of PFAS-containing biosolids (sludge from sewage treatment plants) to farms and other land.
