End brutal mass slaughter of chickens by heat stress (VSD/VSD+)

Ventilation Shutdown plus heat (VSD+) is a brutal means of mass slaughter that has been used increasingly in chicken factories in response to the avian flu (HPAI) epidemic. Chickens may take hours to die this way. Allegedly, this is the best way to commit a mass slaughter event within a 48 hour deadline, however, in reality, even with VSD+, factories are not meeting this deadline. There are other more humane methods of rapid depopulation and USDA has the power to encourage these alternate methods. Ask the Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins to enforce more humane methods of slaughter in response to the HPAI outbreak.
