End Poverty For Long Term Care Workers

Group Home workers, home care providers, and nursing home caregivers are the soul of long-term care. We often work multiple low wage jobs, suffer through short-staffing conditions, are under-compensated and, in many cases, are offered inadequate or nonexistent benefits that leave caregivers without access to affordable health insurance, housing, paid sick days, and funding for retirement. We deserve living wages, affordable healthcare, and the dignity of retirement benefits after decades of service to the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
We are standing together to demand our voices are heard and that our work is valued accordingly. We are demanding a pathway to $25, affordable healthcare, the ability to retire with dignity and other protections that will lift us out of poverty and improve services for consumers and residents.
Send a letter now to your elected State Representative and State Senator to tell them that enough is enough. A pathway to $25/hr, affordable health care, and retirement benefits after providing decades of service for the elderly and for individuals with disabilities is what we deserve! Livable wages and benefits would lift all long-term care workers out of poverty and better compensation for workers would also help to solve the current short-staffing crisis that looms over nursing homes, group homes, and home care services.
Our elected officials need to hear from the experts - Us! - that we refuse to remain invisible. Our voices are important! Use yours now!
