Concerned residents at Park La Brea filed a complaint with the City regarding short-term rentals listed on online platforms in violation of the Home Sharing Ordinance (HSO). All of the units in park La Brea are covered by the City’s Rent Stabilization Ordinance and the HSO prohibits their use as short term rentals to protect affordable housing for residents.

Illegal short-term rentals in our community have brought excessive noise, crowds, and litter to our community and violate COVID protocols that keep residents safe. The units that are listed on platforms like AirBnb, VRBO, Booking.com and others, should be rented as affordable housing under the Rent Stabilization Ordinance and Home Sharing Ordinance. Instead, hosts have turned homes into unregulated hotels.

Tell the Planning Department today to enforce the Home Sharing Ordinance at Park La Brea!
