Equitable Access to Affordable, Quality Child Care *Must* be a Priority in the NYS Budget

We know we need much more than $46 million to restore stability to our child care system and ensure that all children have equitable access to quality care. But this year is the first time in almost a decade when the Governor and both houses of the Legislature have proposed a significant increase in state money going for child care subsidies. Since the one house budgets are out, this is the best we will get this year—and we could see it cut back in the negotiations. We need our legislative leaders to take a strong stand on behalf of all children. Please contact NY's Legislative Leaders to tell them that equitable access to affordable, quality child care has to be a priority in this year's budget.
