Even Year Elections

Even year elections drive much higher turnout, and much more representative turnout, even in "down ballot" local elections. Turnout is higher by more than a third of the voting age population in even years (because the big federal elections are held in even years) compared to odd year elections.

This turnout is more representative of the population as a whole. In a moment where young voters, working class voters, and voters of color are expressing increased skepticism as to whether the Democratic Party cares about them, it's incumbent on us to make sure their voices are heard and they are shaping the policy of blue states like ours.

We need even year elections for local races immediately!
