Fair Contract for Barnstable Administrators' Organization

The members of the Barnstable Administrators' Organization provide invaluable service to Barnstable Public Schools' students and staff. This bargaining unit of 39 members includes associate and assistant principals, special education coordinators, curriculum coordinators, and technology support workers. These staff members perform numerous "behind-the-scenes" tasks that allow Barnstable schools to operate smoothly.

In May, the Barnstable School Committee presented the BAO a wage offer that was similar to offers made to other school employees and town workers. But the School Committee violated labor law in replacing that proposal with another one that cut the wage offer to BAO members. The state Department of Labor Relations has issued a complaint of regressive bargaining against the School Committee.

The Barnstable School Committee has refused to settle a contract with the BAO that both reflects the value of members' work and also is in line with other contracts between the town and municipal employees.

By filling out this form, you will be sending a prepared message to members of the Barnstable School Committee in support of the Barnstable Administrators’ Organization and its right to a fair contract.
