State workers need a fair contract with fair wages!
The PROTEC17 State Bargaining Team is in negotiations with executives from the Department of Licensing (DOL), Washington State Patrol (WSP), and Department of Transportation (WSDOT), and the Office of Financial Management (OFM) for the 2027-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and the State has proposed NO GENERAL WAGE INCREASES for either year.
We’ve been through this before: The State attempts to balance its budget of the backs of those who are doing the work to provide vital services to Washingtonians everyday. Morale plummets, workers are expected to do more with less, services suffer, and programs are cut. As the largest employer in Washington State, when State employees suffer so does the local economy, further exacerbating the exact crisis the governor should be trying to fix.
Now is the time to make your voice heard! Tell Gov. Ferguson and OFM Director Chapman-See that STATE WORKERS NEED A FAIR WAGE!
As a reminder, Governor Ferguson made promises to the PROTEC17 member-led (and voluntarily funded) endorsement committee to support public employees, and now it’s time to hold him accountable.
Send our pre-written message to the Governor’s office to remind him of the promises he made to support public employees!
