Fairness for Delaware Renters

When New Castle County reassessed property values, apartment buildings got classified and taxed like commercial properties — warehouses and shopping centers, not homes.

The result: your building gets taxed at roughly twice the rate of your neighbor who owns a house down the street. If your state legislators don't fix the issue now, renters, like you, will be facing even higher rent increases driven by the tax unfairness.

The good news is, the Delaware State Senate is considering a bill (SB 350) that would fix the tax unfairness and we need your help to pass the bill. Whether you've reached out already or this is your first time, your voice matters to getting this bill passed. Your legislators need to hear from you.
