TAKE ACTION to push Maryland lawmakers to pass House Bill 1455: Maryland State Retirement and Pension System – Divestment from Israel!

Our state’s pension system is directly funding Israel’s oppression, displacement, occupation and genocide of Palestinians. We need your help to compel the members of the MD General Assembly’s Appropriations Committee to move HB1455: Maryland State Retirement and Pension System – Divestment from Israel forward to a full floor vote for passage.

HB1455 calls for divestment from the $65.5 million that Maryland’s state retirement and pension system currently holds in risky Israeli sovereign bonds. These bonds serve as a blank check to finance Israel’s bombs, bulldozers, and ammunition. They directly fund the death and destruction in Gaza; and apartheid, occupation, and annexation of the West Bank and Golan Heights.

Urge Maryland lawmakers to pass HB1455 to divest our tax dollars from immeasurable human suffering in the Middle East, and protect the state’s public workers’ pensions from gross violations of international law!
