Tell FERC, DOE and Joe Biden to stop CP2 now!
We’re calling on President Biden, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy to stop the biggest build out of fossil fuels in US history. All told, FERC and DOE are considering the construction of more than 20 new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facilities that could add the equivalent emissions of 675 coal-fired power plants
And the biggest of them is Calcasieu Pass 2 (CP2). If allowed to be built, CP2 will cause 20 TIMES as much global warming pollution as the Willow Project in Alaska.
Right now, FERC and DOE are considering 2 permits that are essential for the CP2: FERC is considering the permit to allow CP2 to be built, and DOE is considering the permit allowing them to export Methane from fracking as LNG. BOTH permits are important opportunities to stop the project. And failure to receive EITHER permit will effectively block the project. But so far NEITHER FERC, DOE, NOR President Biden have ever rejected an application like this for a LNG export facility in the Gulf.
Enter your contact information to get started, and we'll cue up a sample comment you can send to FERC and DOE, with a CC to President Biden to stop CP2 and all new LNG permit approvals. We'll make sure all the comments are submitted to FERC to demand they look at the impact of these facilities on our communities, the climate, and US consumers.
