Fix Zoning 2.0
Atlanta's Department of City Planning thinks its Zoning 2.0 rewrite is ready to be passed. They've proposed a massive overhaul in the legal text behind our city's zoning, but it's not going to make it easier to build housing!
This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape our city and reverse our housing crisis. With the right changes, Zoning 2.0 can help make housing more affordable, attainable, walkable, and equitable.

- May 2026 update: Zoning code rewrite moves toward formal submission to Council (Center for Civic Innovation) The Zoning Committee voted in support of a resolution directing the Department of City Planning to formally submit “Zoning 2.0” legislation to the City Council, beginning the public review process. Chair Eshé Collins said the Committee also plans to hold a work session to better understand the legislation before any vote.
