Demand that Rutgers Admin Un-Suspend Student Activists and Drop Their Charges

On Tuesday, April 29th, RUPD violently and arbitrarily arrested four Palestine advocates, three of them students, for protesting an event on Rutgers campus with Josh Gottheimer, a gubernatorial candidate and congressional representative from NJ-5. Gottheimer is a staunch Zionist and supporter of Israel’s genocide in Gaza who regularly pushes to criminalize student activism. After the three students were released, they were all suspended by Rutgers, placing their academic progress in jeopardy. The fourth activist still remains in police custody.

These arrests and student suspensions, the first of their kind at Rutgers University during this phase of the genocide, mark the Rutgers administration’s most blatant repression of the student movement: outright criminalization.

Despite these attempts to intimidate and suppress our fellow advocates, the student movement will not be deterred. As long as anti-Palestinian racists like Gottheimer are welcomed on campus, and as long as Rutgers continues to fund Israeli institutions and invest in the genocide, we will not be silenced.

Our community members need our help! Send this letter to Rutgers admin and let them know: DROP THE CHARGES AGAINST THE RUTGERS FOUR, FREE OUR COMRADE STILL IN JAIL, FREE PALESTINE.
