#FreeTheCompost: Pledge of Support

Miami-Dade County has an incredible opportunity to solve multiple challenges with one innovative approach. Our farmers and gardeners have already proven that locally made compost creates healthier plants and people, while our county seeks solutions for processing 2 million+ tons of waste annually. Instead of waiting a decade for an unwanted incinerator that could only handle half our waste, let's act now by aligning grassroots efforts with government policies.

In California, Agromin works with a network of farmers and community composters that collectively process 1.2 million tons of organics per year. We CAN compost and recycle our way out of this waste crisis. An incinerator is not the answer. The only waste-to-energy we should be considering is anaerobic digestion.

Real-world solutions already exist, and the millions being invested in WTE consultants could have been better invested in real diversion efforts yesterday. But there's no sense in crying over spilled milk.

Let's begin diverting as much as we can now!

We want sensible composting regulations, more zero waste policies, and we continue to oppose an incinerator anywhere!
