Substitute bill SB1243 asks the CT Department of Transportation to negotiate discounted or free bus pass arrangements with school districts that request (and fund) them. It also offers our veterans free CTtransit bus travel. There is $3 million in the Appropriations Committee budget dedicated to supporting this initiative. We are calling on Gov. Ned Lamont and leadership of the Connecticut General Assembly to join the 25 co-sponsors of SB1243, the Transportation Committee and the Appropriations Committee to pass Tickets to Opportunity for veterans and the young people of Connecticut.
