Get The AHEAD Act to the finish line this year! (Senate Outreach)
Thanks to advocacy from people like you and our allies and partners throughout the state, An Act relative to affordable housing and environmental adaptation dollars (fondly known as the AHEAD Act) has made exciting progress in the Legislature this session — in fact, it's gone farther than ever before!
Specifically, the Senate version of the bill (S.2751) was reported out of the Senate Revenue Committee favorably (a small win!) and is now sitting with the Senate Ways & Means Committee for their review. The House version of the bill (H.3194) was extended by the House Revenue Committee to Friday, June 26th, so that committee must vote on the bill by then.
This means there's still time to push our state legislators to advocate for the AHEAD Act to become law.
Due to the two versions of the bill being in different stages of the legislative process right now, we have slightly different messages for Senators vs Representatives. Join the AHEAD Coalition in sending a letter to your State Senator letting them know how important revenue for affordable housing and climate resilience is to you, and asking them to urge their colleagues to bring the AHEAD Act to the finish line!
