This campaign is for the Louisiana state legislature to add teacher and support employee pay raises to the budget. A teacher and support employee pay raise should be a line in the budget. The Louisiana people voted down constitutional amendment 3 because they did not want to eliminate protected funding that currently funds vital programs for public education students. Without a required funding source for those programs attached to the amendment to continue the programs, Louisiana constituents were not willing to jeopardize the education of students when the teacher and support employee pay raise could be a line in the budget. This campaign is to let the Louisiana state legislature know just that. The Louisiana people WANT teachers and support employees to receive a pay raise, but not at the expense of students losing programs.
