Governor Ayotte: Veto ALL anti-trans bills!
.png)
Soon, Governor Kelly Ayotte will either sign or veto 4 bills attacking our LGBTQIA community, especially targetted at transgender young people.
- HB 324 is a book ban bill that would broadly allow the state government to ban books in local school libraries, including criminalizing school librarians.
- HB 148 would allow any private or public organization to choose to ban transgender people from the restrooms, locker rooms, and prisons that align with their gender identity, in the name of "biological sex." This bill also completely ignores the existence of intersex people.
- HB 377 would ban puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy for transgender young people, while allowing the same treatments for young people who are not transgender.
- HB 712 was originally written to ban gender affirming top surgery for transgender and nonbinary teens, and now bans every gender affirming surgery.
Tell her today: We control our own bodies and lives. These bills cruelly deny LGBTQIA people, especially transgender people, access to materials about our lives, inclusion in public spaces, and the healthcare that allows us to live freely as ourselves.
