Governor Ayotte: Veto SB 268

Veto SB268

SB 268 is currently on Governor Kelly Ayotte’s desk. This bill, which has passed both the Senate and the House, seeks to legalize discrimination for bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, and prisons on the basis of "biological sex" as defined as only "male" and "female,” completely erasing the scientific reality of intersex individuals. These discriminatory policies have no place in NH, and create real world privacy and safety concerns for all Granite Staters.

The fight’s not over.

This bill, which is incredibly similar to last year's vetoed "bathroom ban" HB148, is waiting for Gov. Ayotte's signature or veto. Last year the Governor did the right thing, vetoing this similar legislation because she believed the bill to be unenforceable. The House attempted to overturn the Governor’s veto, but failed to achieve the super-majority needed.

Write to Governor Ayotte and tell her that SB 268 creates enforceability, privacy, and safety concerns for all in the Granite state, and just like HB 148, it needs to be vetoed.
