Tell Our VA Delegates to Vote YES on HB 1438 and HB 1441 to End Harmful Law Enforcement Cooperation With ICE

These bills may be heard as soon as Tuesday February 3.

When VA law enforcement spends time and resources assisting ICE, they’re not protecting you or your community! And when ICE makes arrests without judicial warrants, people are deprived of their Constitutional rights.

Like all Virginians, immigrants deserve the protection of law enforcement, not persecution by ICE. But since the start of 2025, ICE arrests in Virginia have increased by over 470 percent.

Contrary to the rhetoric, these arrests rarely involve violent offenders. Nationwide, 65 percent of the individuals ICE arrested from October 1, 2024 (the start of the 2025 fiscal year), through June 14, 2025, had no criminal convictions, and 93 percent were never convicted of any violent offenses.

Get VA law enforcement back to its real job and make ICE play by the rules that our country was built on!
