When the state of Ohio allowed government bodies to meet virtually during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Centers for Independent Living saw a marked increase in the ability of people with disabilities to collaborate, network, and participate in state and local governmental bodies.

Ohio House Bill 43 would allow unelected public bodies to meet virtually. Virtual meetings allow people with disabilities who have limited mobility, are transit-dependent, or have a higher risk of serious complications from contagion to benefit from networking and participation in state and local government bodies.
