Healthcare is a Human Right: We Demand a Moratorium on Medicaid Cutoffs!

Stop the Medicaid Cutoffs!

Over 11,000 Vermont residents have been kicked off of Medicaid since the cutoffs began this spring, following Congress’ decision to end pandemic protections for the program. Incredibly, two-thirds of them might be eligible for Medicaid, but were kicked off because they didn’t return the state’s letter or for other procedural reasons.

Following the devastating floods that hit the state, Vermont officials suspended Medicaid cut-offs through the end of July. Yet thousands of people, especially poor people, are still recovering—with many having lost homes, jobs, access to mail, and means of transportation. If the state resumes Medicaid cut-offs this month, thousands will lose their healthcare in the midst of crisis.

Join us in calling on Department of Vermont Health Access Commissioner Andrea DeLaBruere and Governor Scott to continue the Medicaid cutoff moratorium for at least another month, and to expand healthcare to everyone regardless of income.
