The LA City Council will soon be voting on a measure to ban the sale and manufacture of fur products within the City of Los Angeles.  We have already seen resistance by the opposition. The City Council needs to see that the people of LA will not tolerate an industry based on cruelty.

The Fur Industry is one where billions of animals such as foxes, minks, dogs, cats, raccoons, chinchillas and rabbits are killed every year.  Animals raised on fur farms are kept in cages, barely bigger than their bodies and confined to a life of misery.  They endure this life only to be killed in some of the most inhumane ways- electrocuted and stunned, some still alive as they are being skinned.  Their suffering is completely unnecessary.  Today there are countless varieties of fabric and faux fur alternatives.  There is no need for this brutal industry. As a fashion city and the second largest city in the U.S. - let us set an example of compassion for the rest of the country and the world to follow.

Write a letter to all members of the LA City Council to express your support for the ban and let them know that LA is ready to be a fur free city.
