Help pass HB 2854!

Today, Oklahoma House members will vote on HB 2854. The bill will provide state employees with a pension from the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). OPERS was closed to newly hired state employees in 2015. Those employees now only receive a less-secure retirement option, a defined-contribution 401(k) retirement through the “Pathfinder” plan.
Oklahoma state agencies are struggling to recruit and retain public employees. Offering current
and prospective state employees the retirement security only a pension can provide is a step in
the right direction.
