Protect Umstead State Park & Tell DEQ to Deny the Mining Permit for RDU Quarry

Help us stop the first private rock quarry on public land in North Carolina. Wake Stone Corporation wants to build a new rock mine, RDU Quarry, on the Odd Fellows Tract, 105 acres of forested land bordering Umstead State Park, Old Reedy Creek Multi-use Trail (which part of the East Coast Greenway that runs from Maine to Florida) and a private residence. The NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) must deny the mining permit application due to significant adverse effects and environmental harm to Umstead State Park, the East Coast Greenway and private homeowners.
