Last year, the National Marine Sanctuary System faced massive, proposed budget cuts, endangering our marine wildlife and coastal communities. We needed your voice to tell Congress that our national marine sanctuaries are essential, and you delivered. More than 14 thousand messages were shared with lawmakers, creating an undeniable tidal wave of support for our marine sanctuaries and the communities that depend on them.  

Because of your letters, persistence, and the hard work of our policy team, lawmakers held the line on marine sanctuaries funding - no budget cut for Fiscal Year 2026!  

The president just signed the bill making it official, because of YOUR VOICE! In a season of devastating budget cuts, we are so thankful to move forward with sustained funding for national marine sanctuaries. We can not let up our pressure to hold the line for marine sanctuaries, but for now we can celebrate and express gratitude.
