Hold the RSS Accountable for their Covert Lobbying

India's largest far-right organization with a history of violence against religious minorities is trying to exert covert foreign influence in the United States!

On November 12, Prism reported that the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), a foreign political organization with a history of sectarian violence against religious minorities in India, paid lobbying firm Squire Patton Boggs (SPB) over $330,000 in 2025 to lobby Congress on its behalf.

Prism's reporting revealed that SPB registered under the domestic Lobbying Disclosure Act rather than FARA (Foreign Agents Registration Act), despite the fact that they clearly described their work as an effort to whitewash the RSS's image to Congress.

This influence campaign also involved U.S.-based organizations with RSS ties—including the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), and a Massachussets based private donor—that maintain tax-exempt status despite potentially acting as foreign agents.

Demand your member of Congress:

  • Call for the DOJ to investigate potential FARA violations by the RSS, One+ Strategies, SPB, and related parties, and determine whether this willful non-registration constitutes a prosecutable offense.
  • Investigate potential IRS and FARA violations by HSS, FIIDS and other RSS-linked organizations to determine if they have acted as unregistered foreign agents.
