Pasadena City Council will be discussing additional revenue sources at their meeting on Monday, July 13. One of the proposed options is a progressive real property transfer tax to increase the taxes paid when homes are sold. Our goal is to get Pasadena City Council to put a property transfer tax on high value properties ("mansion tax") to fund affordable housing. Pasadena currently has no source of funding for affordable housing from the City other than the in lieu fee collected when developers of market-rate housing choose not to include affordable units. City Council must act quickly to get this on the ballot for the November 2026 election.

Affordable housing prevents homelessness. The best way to fight homelessness is not to let it happen.
